Brief Outline of Experience
Roger has had a long career in healthcare with experience within the hospital and university environment. Having qualified as an Operating Department Assistant he pursued a career in surgery before studying to become one of the first ‘Doctors Assistant’ and gaining an Honours degree in Applied Bio-Medical Science at the University of Portsmouth. Roger moved into academia, becoming a lecturer at Portsmouth University teaching anatomy and life sciences. He combined this with his role as a Clinical Educator at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, gaining a Post-Graduate Certificate in Higher Education. Roger now works as a freelance lecturer and is the author of ‘Phlebotomy’ and co-author and editor of the ‘National Association of Phlebotomy Manual & Practice Portfolio’ and sits on their Executive Committee, regularly submitting articles for their newsletters.
